OUR HISTORY
1938 (Salford & Eccles) was reformed as an Air Cadet squadron in September 2018. This followed the merger of two local and historic Salford squadrons; 319 (City of Salford) and 292 (Eccles) Squadron ATC. The squadron number 1938 has its roots in Salford, previously 1938 (2nd Salford) Squadron, it was closed down in the late 20th century. The squadron motto "Natus Ex Duobus" or "Born from Two" pays homage to the fact that 1938 (Salford City & Eccles) was a merger of those two historic Salford squadrons.

The new 1938 (Salford & Eccles) Squadron was established to consolidate Air Cadet resources in Salford and to deliver excellent teaching and instruction to young people in Salford, giving them skills and resources to exceed in both civilian and military life.
